Instructional Strategies
What are Instructional Strategies?
It can oftentimes be hard to separate instructional strategies from positive behavior strategies, as the result of their use is the same: to improve desired behavior, decrease challenging behavior, and/or increase engagement.
Instructional strategies are used to support students in learning skills; this may be learning academic content or new, desired behaviors. They provide support to the student to allow access (e.g., visual supports) or describe how a student may be taught, using a specific strategy (e.g., type and level of prompting).
